I swear, sometimes it seems to be the job of an IT person to come up with the most silly acronyms for things. SCSI, HD, RAM, CD, SATA, PRI, DMA, DRM, VGA, DVI, HDMI, RTFM, PEBKAC. The list goes on and on.
So when I get a user that is having “problems” with his email over VPN…
R***n says:
Jason is something wrong with outlook?
Jason says:
it’s made by microsoft?
Jason says:
it costs a lot of money?
Jason says:
there are free alternatives to it?
R***n says:
HAHA
R***n says:
I can send email
R***n says:
I am trying citrix now
R***n says:
It is making me log into the server
Jason says:
m***6
Jason says:
your username
R***n says:
I can send through Citrix but not through VPN
R***n says:
OK it logged me in now. Must of just been a burp
We do not have outside facing Citrix servers. They’re internal only. You must be on the network in order to access the Citrix servers. You must either a.) be in the office or b.) be VPN’d into the office in order to access the network and Citrix servers.
The chat program he’s using is an internal-only chat program. He’s VPN’d into the office. I know this for a fact.
So when he says he can send through Citrix but not through VPN… HE’S USING VPN TO ACCESS CITRIX….. GAHHHHH.
Maybe it’s just me.
