Our company grew from 25 people to over 50 people in two short years. We had only 2 IT people in the company and our days were completely booked from start until finish, every day, for months. So when they decided to hire a lackey for me to use and abuse, it usually would be a good thing. Unfortunately, even meaningless grunt work tasks (such as moving printers around the building) proved to be a little difficult for him. I was told that he had at least a little background dealing with computers, so I figured he could definitely aide me in my daily tasks.
I was training the new guy on how to input data into our SQL database – and the DB obviously had a GUI front end.
PoopLube (his self-made nickname): “Hey, how did you copy the text from that field and put it into this field?”
Me: “What?” – I figured he was kidding.
PoopLube: “I can’t right click and select copy, so how did you do it?”
Me: “Control C and Control V?”
PoopLube: “Ooh, that’s pretty nice”
