Corporate Policy dictates what we can and cannot do. One policy states that every VPN laptop should be treated as though it is an internal-use computer. Therefore we have to wipe the system and put the Corporate Image on. That also means that the user cannot install their own crap on their laptop. Another policy states that we cannot let users use applications that can’t be updated by WSUS unless it’s on the approved list. Our approved list has several chatting programs, DVD watching programs, remote access programs, CD burning programs, the entire Adobe suite, etc. But no Firefox allowed.
